Ultralight folding electric bike for trains and stairs – ENGWE Zip
Very light, compact folding e-bike with a 360 Wh battery and hydraulic brakes. Designed to combine with train or metro and to carry in your arms every day.
The Zip is the folding e-bike in the range designed for multimodal travel: it folds into a compact package and weighs little, so you can take it on the train, the metro or up to the office. In return, its 360 Wh battery gives about 25–35 km real-world, enough for most urban return trips.
Guide price: €1,099 (VAT included). See the full data in the specifications on this page.
Estimated real-world range
The manufacturer claims up to 120 km, measured with minimum assistance, flat ground and a light rider. In normal use (medium assistance, a 75–85 kg adult, some hills and stops) we estimate between 26 and 36 km per charge, based on 10–14 Wh/km with its 360 Wh battery. With maximum assistance, cold weather or steep climbs, expect the lower end of the range.
Example: for a 10 km commute each way, you would need to charge it roughly every 1–1 working days.
Who is the ENGWE Zip for?
- Riders who need to carry it: at 19.4 kg it can be taken up stairs or onto a train without much effort.
- Mostly flat terrain: 40 Nm is enough in town, but you will need to pedal more on long climbs.
- Riders who value braking: hydraulic disc brakes stop with little effort and need less adjustment.
Do you need a licence or number plate?
No. With 250 W rated power and assistance up to 25 km/h, it is treated as a bicycle in the EU: no licence, no registration and it can use cycle lanes. In Spain helmets are compulsory on interurban roads and for under-16s everywhere.
