Folding electric bikes

Folding formats for different needs

Compact, lightweight models such as the ENGWE Zip, T14 or P20 answer different priorities from wide-tyre folding bikes. The O20 Boost combines a folding format with urban use. The Engine X, Engine Pro 2.0, Engine Pro 3.0 Boost and the EP-2 models use bigger tyres and should be judged on space, weight, suspension and behaviour on mixed routes. The L20 3.0 Boost and L20 3.0 Pro add a compact design with suspension, while the X26/X24/X20 family combines folding with a touring focus.

The range published by the manufacturer is a claimed figure and should not be compared without checking the battery, assistance level and test conditions. Wheel diameter and width affect the folded size and the ride. Suspension can add comfort on rough surfaces, but it also adds weight and maintenance. Also check the brakes, drivetrain, recommended rider height and compatibility with racks or other accessories that are actually available.

If the bike will mainly be used daily, also compare urban electric bikes. For wide tyres and more volume, see electric fat bikes. Before buying, confirm the variant, final price, delivery, warranty and returns.
