Urban electric bikes

What to compare in an urban e-bike

A low frame can make frequent stops easier; a lighter bike is easier to handle when walking it; and a torque sensor usually gives a more progressive response. It is also worth checking the brakes, lights, mudguards, rear rack and whether the battery can be removed for charging. A belt drive reduces some maintenance tasks, while a mid-drive or hub motor changes the weight distribution and the riding feel. Compare these features on each version's page and check the colours and configurations available.

Urban-oriented models in the current range include the ENGWE N1 Air, N1 Pro, P20, P275 SE, P275 Pro and P275 ST. The ENGWE Zip, T14 and O20 Boost add folding or a compact size; the L20 and L20 Boost prioritise a low step-through and a wide-tyre format. If you often need to carry the bike, also see folding electric bikes. For mixed routes and greenways, check the trekking and routes category.
