Fat bikes

How to compare a wide-tyre electric bike

Check the actual tyre size, the recommended pressure, the overall weight and the space needed to store it. Brakes, suspension and drivetrain should be assessed together with the motor and battery. Range is a claimed figure that can vary especially with pressure, surface, load, temperature and assistance level. If the model folds, also compare its folded dimensions, the locking mechanism and how easy it is to carry: a folding fat bike can still be bulky.

In the current catalogue, the Engine Pro 2.0, Engine Pro 3.0 Boost, Engine X, EP-2 3.0 Boost, EP-2 Boost and EP-2 Pro combine folding with wide tyres. The E26 uses a large-wheel format; the L20 and L20 Boost add a step-through frame; the M1 and M20 are also grouped by their motorcycle-style design. The X26/X24/X20 family comes in several sizes that should be checked on each model's page.

See folding bikes if storage is your priority, or motorcycle-style if you are after that look. Before buying, check availability, final price, delivery, warranty and returns.
