Ultralight 14 kg folding electric bike – DYU SP1

The SP1 is the lightest folding e-bike in our range: 14 kg. Its removable 24 V battery can be expanded with a second battery for extra range. It's designed for anyone who puts weight above everything else: taking it on the train, the bus or up to a fourth-floor flat with no lift.

Estimated real-world range

The manufacturer claims up to 30 km, measured with minimum assistance, flat ground and a light rider. In normal use (medium assistance, a 75–85 kg adult, some hills and stops) we estimate between 9 and 12 km per charge, based on 10–14 Wh/km with its 120 Wh battery. With maximum assistance, cold weather or steep climbs, expect the lower end of the range.

Example: for a 10 km commute each way, you would need to charge it roughly every 1–1 working days.

Who is the DYU SP1 for?

Do you need a licence or number plate?

No. With 250 W rated power and assistance up to 25 km/h, it is treated as a bicycle in the EU: no licence, no registration and it can use cycle lanes. In Spain helmets are compulsory on interurban roads and for under-16s everywhere.
