Estimated real-world range

The manufacturer claims up to 55 km, measured with minimum assistance, flat ground and a light rider. In normal use (medium assistance, a 75–85 kg adult, some hills and stops) we estimate between 26 and 36 km per charge, based on 10–14 Wh/km with its 360 Wh battery. With maximum assistance, cold weather or steep climbs, expect the lower end of the range.

Who is the DYU T1 for?

• People short on space: it folds for a car boot, a small storeroom or a corner of the flat.

Do you need a licence or number plate?

No. With 250 W rated power and assistance up to 25 km/h, it is treated as a bicycle in the EU: no licence, no registration and it can use cycle lanes. In Spain helmets are compulsory on interurban roads and for under-16s everywhere.
